Cell free DNA as a biomarker in medicolegal assessment in burn patients

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: Burn victims have higher levels of cell free DNA (cfDNA), which allows its use as a direct indicator cellular damage and burn vitality. Aim: Determination cfDNA in patients their correlation with total body surface area burned percent (TBSA%). Subjects methods: cases were evaluated to determine the prevalence age sex variations, period admission, TBSA%, etiology manner burns. The plasma concentration was measured within 24 hours injury 40 20 control subjects. Results: mean 34.38 years (median 33 years). Most males (62.5%). Burning by flame or scalding represented 50% cases. Accidental burns most predominant. admission periods 36.55 days while value TBSA% 16.68%. There statistically significant difference values between subjects (p = 0.001). A positive found (r 0.7; p < Conclusion recommendations: Levels significantly different controls.

Evaluating Gamma-H2AX Expression as a Biomarker of DNA Damage after X-ray in Angiography Patients

Objective: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is one of the most common diseases. Coronary angiography (CAG) is an important apparatus used to diagnose and treat this disease. Since angiography is performed through exposure to ionizing radiation, it can cause harmful effects induced by double-stranded breaks in DNA which is potentially life-threatening damage. The aim of the present study is to inves...

cell free dna: a novel biomarker for clinical diagnosis

cell free dnas (cfdnas) are small fragments of genomic or mitochondrial dna releasing from cells into the blood stream. the presence of cfdna in the human circulatory system has been shown for the first time in 1948 however, the potential clinical applications of cfdna remained unknown until recent progress in detection and quantification of these molecules by sensitive methods. in this paper, ...

Circulating cell-free DNA as a prognostic and predictive biomarker in non-small cell lung cancer

Circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA), which can be obtained from plasma or serum by non-invasive procedures, has showed great potential to predict treatment response and survival for cancer patients. Several studies have assessed the prognostic and predictive value of cfDNA in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, these studies were often small and reported varying results. To address this ...

Cell-free DNA in the circulation as a potential cancer biomarker.

In the course of the search for new biomarkers, circulating cell-free DNA (ccf-DNA) has become a popular target of interest. An elevated level of ccf-DNA has been detected in the circulation of cancer patients in comparison with healthy controls. Since ccf-DNA in cancer patients often bears similar genetic and epigenetic features to the related tumor DNA, there is evidence that some of the ccf-...
